Women’s Entrepreneurship Program

Our founding father was inspired by his mother to create the Makassi Women’s Entrepreneurship Program. When Joseph Mpalanga was a child, his mother suddenly found herself the main breadwinner for their family of 5. In the evenings, she would make juices using fresh fruits she purchased at the local market. During the day, she would sell her homemade juices. Through these efforts, she was able to pay for her children’s schooling as well as food and clothing. The spirit of determination that his mother possessed, inspired and helped lay the groundwork for the Women’s Entrepreneurship Program in Joseph Mpalanga’s mind. He’s making the dream of becoming a small business owner a reality for hundreds of women throughout Africa and fighting poverty by offering opportunities to create wealth through Makassi’s proprietary Women’s Entrepreneurship Program.

Makassi’s Women Entrepreneurship Program focuses on helping women groups from different socio-economic backgrounds to grow in business, entrepreneurship and to develop viable businesses to help them support their families. Makassi Beverages Women Entrepreneurship Program provides business entrepreneurship skills, coaching and trade credit to obtain and start selling Makassi Beverages products.

The goal is to support women in Africa to gain financial freedom!

The Women Entrepreneurship Program will be introduced in countries where Makassi Beverages operates in three main hubs in Africa - Southern Africa, Central Africa and West Africa. So far, more than 100 women have been trained in Kinshasa, DRC.

In Africa, 75% of families are supported by women.

Women are the core that holds families and communities together.

Helping women builds stronger communities.
